Photographs of comfort Women
This is a picture of a comfort woman published in a special feature called “Photo album of a hidden 20 years on the battlefield” from the Mainichi Gurafu, issued on August 11, 1965. The description of the photograph states:
“This is a group called the comfort women. Many of these were Korean women. They headed to the front lines, chasing the constantly advancing troops. They laughed, showing their white teeth, when facing the camera.”
In Japan at that time, there was absolutely no talk of “Korean comfort women being sex slaves forcibly taken by the Japanese army.”
The comfort women appearing in Japanese movies as well were depicted as prostitutes chasing the Japanese army to earn money on the battlefield.
Following this, in the 1980s, the fabricated articles began in the Asahi Newspaper.
The historical revision of the comfort women had begun.
